Is It Possible For Non-whites To Take Over The Country?

Even though it wouldn’t be possible, let’s just think of what might happen if the nightmare held by so many whites should ever occur. That fear is that non-whites might take over the country. Part of this nightmare is that whites would lose all their freedoms, as well as their economic wealth. They also believe that they would lose their unearned status of supposedly being superior because they are white.  However, their biggest concern would be that non-whites would get even with them for hundreds of years of mistreatment.

Yet, the loss of freedom and wealth could never happen because such a takeover could never happen. In 2047 the total of all no-whites will equal the number of whites in the United States. Yet, there will not be enough non-whites that are of the same supposed race to take over the country. Most of them understand that none of the supposed races could take over all the others, let alone the largest one, that is, whites.

 Some members of each of the population minorities would hold valued positions like medical doctor or fire-person. Any person who has such a position will try to protect their position. They worked hard to attain their position. Also, they would not want to lose the rewards of holding that position. Most of these positions are legitimate, and the people who fill them must abide by the law, or they will lose their position. If we focus only on African Americans, we can see a long history of trying to prove themselves by attaining legitimate positions. Historically, blacks have used military service to prove themselves. In recent decades, when they were allowed to receive proper education, they became school teachers, professors, nurses, doctors, and many other positions. They hoped that through these positions, they would receive an acknowledgment from others that they were indeed human beings worthy of being treated fairly. This integration into the structure of the whole society has been accomplished to some degree by all non-white minorities, not just African Americans. Many whites consider such integration as part of their nightmare. However, this partial integration is not some imaginative future but how things exist in the United States of America in the 2020s.

Even though somewhat successful in proving themselves, African Americans have always been greatly outnumbered by the rest of society. Today in the United States, African Americans make up only about 1/8 of the entire population. Being so outnumbered, they could never take over the society. Thus, they had no choice but to hope that the words of the Declaration of Independence and the procedures demanded by the Constitution would be the sources of their being treated as human beings. Rebellion was never a good option.

What About Intelligence and Race?

Many whites are convinced that non-whites are less intelligent than whites. Before modern intelligence testing was developed, some scientists thought that they had found proof that blacks were less intelligent than whites. They even claimed that the average intelligence score of blacks was only 85 while the white average was 100. Even if this were true, we would still find that 25 percent of the persons in the black population were more intelligent than the average white. However, the reality is that close to 50 percent of the black population is more intelligent than the average white person. Of course, this is also true of whites. Fifty percent of whites are also more intelligent than the average white person. We need more medical doctors and engineers, to name just a few occupations where above-average intelligence is important. The moral problem of holding non-whites back from such occupations because of a mistaken belief in white superiority is compounded by the practical consequences of doing so. Because of the need for more people to fill positions requiring higher education, racism makes it harder for whites, as well as everyone else, to get the help that we all need,

Many Whites Fear Retribution

Many whites worry that blacks would want to get even for all that has been done to them. Surely, some of them would want to get even. But the vast majority know that they have no future without upholding the Constitution and working hard to ensure that it stays in place to protect them as it protects all citizens.

Aside from what non-whites would do, it is illogical to blame anyone for what their ancestors did. However, if any living persons knowingly support racism in any form, they would be racist.

Beyond being called a racist, voting for and otherwise supporting white supremacist politicians and ideology is wasting one’s efforts. Despite the tremendous efforts of present-day racists, the South and its ideology will not rise again. Nor will a dictator suppress all non-whites. There simply are too few people who support these ideas for them to be successful. And indeed, the movement of non-whites into mainstream society has already started. Black physicians and nurses sometimes treat white people. White people are sometimes taught by teachers and professors who are not white. White people are sometimes policed by non-whites and defended by attorneys who are non-white. This is already happening, but without vengeance in mind. Professionalism and decency on the part of nonwhites discourage retribution, and the law prevents it. If it were going to happen, it would have started decades ago.

Racism, Manipulation, And Status

The fantasy of a race war is pure nonsense held by extremists and the mentally deranged. It would achieve nothing. All we would get would be the worst whites in control. Understanding that not all whites think alike or have the same desires for the future is essential to know. Many non-whites support ideas that many whites hold. The most important of these ideas is to uphold the Constitution so everyone has civil rights to protect themselves and their families. What this means is that many whites have more in common with people who would follow the Constitution than they have with those whites who work for white dominance of society. There is consistent growth in the number of whites who have shed their racism and a decrease in those who hold to the unscientific idea of white supremacy.

Unfortunately, some politicians make careers out of fanning the flames of racism. They attempt to give themselves positions of leadership that they could not achieve in everyday society. By stirring up white resentment, fear of being taken over, and other nonsense, some corporations try to protect themselves by splitting the rest of us by race. This split intends to prevent those of us who don’t hold much or no wealth from working together to force them to get a greater share of the wealth. Allowing oneself to be manipulated by anyone harms oneself in significant ways.

The idea of race is part of that manipulation. Sharing the same skin color is of no great benefit to any of us. We benefit more by working together to protect the Constitution as it protects us. Allowing the false idea of race and, thus, skin color to separate us is something many of us have been taught, but it is against everything we want now and in our future. Do not let yourself be manipulated!

For those of you who feel that you cannot afford to lose the status of being white, please understand that you can do things to raise your status besides the false claim of white superiority.  Instead of trying to fit in among people filled with the hate necessary to promote that false sense of superiority, there are other groups to which you can belong that are much more rewarding. You can start or join organizations that work to meet the needs of your neighbors. Such work is built on love, bringing much more respect and feelings of well-being than hate. Many people do this already and have profound feelings of accomplishment and self-worth.

The Dangers Of Religious Extremism Are Not Limited To Terrorism

If you are a religious person who works with others to help people cope with life’s difficulties, those actions are surely a genuine part of your religion. This is so in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Native American Spirituality, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, and other traditions of the Indian subcontinent, including Zoroastrianism. Neighborly love is even central to non-theistic traditions such as Buddhism, and what the West calls Confucianism, and many more. This is a part of who we are as Human Beings. However, major exceptions are coming out of almost all of these traditions. Cult-like attempts to return to a supposed pure tradition supposedly lost in the past have adherents who claim their ideas to be the only true expression of almost all of the above traditions. The Christian Nationalists or various movements coming out of Islam, such as ISIS or even the Islamic rulers of Iran, ignore the idea of loving one’s neighbor and promote hatred against anyone who does not accept their religious interpretations. This false form of religion has been discussed at length in my book The Unwitting Antichrists: Understanding How Good People Can Be Misled. Within these cult-like organizations, acceptance, comradery, and supposedly noble causes promote a misguided and often cruel purpose in life. The lucky worshipers eventually realize they have been misled and leave for something less hateful. A version of a religion that promotes racism and, consequently, hate is not compatible with the original teachings of any of the most widespread of the world’s religions.

Conclusion

White people are in danger, but not because they are white. With knowledge about race and a willingness to think deeply about what they want out of life, any white person can rise above the idea of white supremacy. White people who accept the supremacist’s nightmare are frightening themselves with a fantasy. Worse than that, many people will think that white supremacists are ignorant and very likely racist. Thinking of them as misled is not a common reaction.

Times are changing. Racism is no longer just a moral issue. It is now also a matter of awareness of the scientific understanding that race is a political contrivance. This makes white supremacists not only morally bankrupt but also ignoramuses.

Are White Persons A Race?

Everybody knows what it means to be white, or do they? Geneticists tell us that even though there are races amongst some animal species, our species, homo sapiens, is too young for races to have developed. They have traced the origin of our species back to Africa, meaning that our distant ancestors were black. As some people began to explore the world by moving into the Middle East and what is today Europe, those with less melanin in their skin increased their ability to produce vitamin D in their skin. These were folks born with a little lighter skin who would likely have had major health challenges if they had been born further South where the incidence of ultraviolet radiation from the Sun was higher. As people moved further North, they continued to adapt to lower degrees of ultraviolet radiation by losing more and more melanin in their skin.  This loss of melanin is an adaptation to living in higher latitudes that the ancestors of people of European descent experienced. Less melanin leads to less screening out of ultraviolet radiation, which is needed to produce an appropriate amount of Vitamin D generated in our skin by ultraviolet radiation from the Sun. Because of this low level of melanin, we call them “white” people today. However, they are not a race because their differences from their ancestors were small, although they outwardly appeared large. People who remained in Africa were already adapted to their environment in terms of skin color. We call their descendants black in the United States because of the melanin in their skin. They are not a race, either. They are just homo sapiens.

Thus, from a scientific standpoint, there cannot be a white, black, yellow, red, or any other race because there are no races among us.. This finding contradicts our traditional understanding of race. The lack of races among humans should be quite disconcerting to people who are trying to “save” the supposed white race. Yet, how our ancestors got their Vitamin D seems to be a ridiculous reason for us to be so divided from one another today, and it is. Nevertheless, the very potent idea of race is taken to be real by most Americans for other hidden but damaging reasons. 

The Origins of the Melding of Supposed Whiteness And Race

Our ideas about race in this country were created mainly in Virginia in the early 1600s in order to divide the white slaves from the African slaves. Workers from Britain were classified as being in bondage, which usually meant they would be freed in seven years and perhaps get some land to make up for not being paid for all those years. Yet, before the 1660s, they were often listed in estate records as slaves. They were the Christian slaves, and persons from Africa were called either the heathen slaves or African slaves. Laws in Virginia were developed over forty to fifty years that favored the British slaves over the African slaves. Over time, the British bondsmen began to be referred to as servants. The Africans remained slaves but were no longer considered to be in bondage. Their slavery changed to chattel slavery and was to remain that way for the rest of their lives. This differential treatment was justified by the new idea of “race.” This idea says that the difference between the races could not be changed. The so-called heathens could convert to Christianity so all the slaves would have something in common and could join together in rebellion. However, because differences by race could never be changed, races joining together in rebellion was nearly impossible. Labeling one race as superior to the other was done to turn the races against the other. The animosity between them would ensure that they never would join forces to free themselves from their wealthy owners. The long-term result of the creation of race is that those with great power can get even more power and wealth, and it has worked that way to this day.

Laws passed by the Virginia Assembly promoting the symbol “race” were also developing the idea of white superiority. Both of these ideas were lies that improved the lot of the rich by dividing the poor into antagonistic camps. Once created, the ideas of race and white superiority put pressure on all whites to keep their ill-gotten superiority through the suppression of blacks by any means. If any whites were to stray from this false system of status, their behavior would threaten all other whites with a loss of status. For whites, in general, any deviation from enforcing their control over blacks was like becoming low-status blacks themselves. As cheap and childish as it was and still is, most whites were ready to defend their supposed superior status with their lives if necessary.

So What Does All This Mean For Whites?

Sociologists refer to the creation of race as an example of the “social construction of perceived reality.” If race is perceived to be real, then it is taken as real and acted upon as if it were real. Thus, racists today are trapped in a lie so strong as to urge them to do what otherwise would be unthinkable. They dehumanize fellow members of their species in order to maintain an unearned status while claiming to be good people, with the majority of them even claiming to be Christian.

Yet, many whites have had a change of heart to some degree, although they have not always acted in such a way as to show that change. It is understandable that most whites embraced racism in the past. However, those of us who now know that we are not genetically superior to blacks and that the very idea of race was a way of manipulating nearly everyone for economic gain need to step up to right the horrible wrong of racism. 

Finally, the question, can the white race be saved is nonsense. There is no white race, and white people are not a homogenous category of people of any consequence. Like everyone else, most people who are white are dominated by a much smaller category of mostly white people who are extremely rich. The ultrarich, knowingly or not, are greatly served by the idea of race. This is because race divides the rest of the nation, greatly hampering the majority from saving themselves from the excesses of the ultrarich.
